Thompson & Morgan - Herb Basil Lettuce Leaf - 250 Seeds

Grow a taste of the Mediterranean! Basil ‘Lettuce Leaf’ is the largest-leaved basil variety around. Although it looks a little different to traditional basil, its frilly-edged and flavour-packed leaves have the same great taste and soft texture you’ll love. Use the aromatic leaves to add punchy basil flavour to salads, pasta dishes and much more! Sow successively indoors for a year-round harvest or grow outdoors in the herb garden or in pots during the summer months. Height: 45cm (18”). Spread: 30cm (12”).Sow basil seed from February to June, or sow throughout the year for indoor cultivation out of season. Sow seed on the surface of free draining seed compost and cover with a light sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator at a temperature of 15-25C (59-77F) or seal the container inside a polythene bag until after germination, which takes 14-21 days. Keep the compost slightly dry at all times, watering very lightly as seedlings emerge. When they are large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots and grow basil plants on in cooler conditions.Product specifications:Position: Full SunHeight: Up to 45cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 30cm when fully establishedSupplied as 1x Basil 'Lettuce Leaf' seed packet (approx. 250 seeds)Delivered with growing and care instructionsHarvest period – June to OctoberImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
