Unlike traditional cultivars, this variety maintains a small shape and size and won’t seed itself around the garden, ensuring it stays exactly where you want it! Throughout the summer months, ‘Blue Chip’ is smothered in dense clusters of blue flowers which are a magnet for bees and butterflies, making this a particularly suitable plant for wildlife or cottage gardens. Hardy and resilient, this reliable shrub is fuss-free and will thrive in most conditions, tolerating poor soil, dry or exposed sites just as well as more sheltered spots.Plant Butterfly bushes in garden borders in any moist, well drained garden soil, in full sun or semi-shade. Alternatively grow buddleja plants in patio containers using soil based compost such as John Innes No.3. Feed and water container-grown plants regularly.
