Following a class of student astronauts and their robot teacher Dr Bott, each paperback delivers an action-packed mission to a different planet, blending comic-strip storytelling with genuine science facts. It's an ideal gift set for space-mad seven to nine year olds, reluctant readers, and classroom science corners alike. About the Books The Space Station Academy series follows a lively group of students as they train and travel across the Solar System under the guidance of their teacher, Dr Bott. Told in a fast-paced, illustrated, story-based format, each of the eight books focuses on a single destination, mixing genuine planetary science with playful adventure so big ideas about gravity, atmospheres, moons, and geology feel exciting rather than dry. In Destination Venus the students bounce through space bubbles past pancake dome volcanoes; Destination Mercury has them dodging meteorites in low gravity; Destination Earth whizzes past volcanoes and waterfalls while explaining the planet's core and spin; and Destination Mars sends the crew hunting for clues about the red planet alongside a real Mars rover. Further out, Destination Jupiter has students skateboarding across moon craters, Destination Saturn explores soot turning into diamonds, Destination Uranus sees the class parachuting off icy moon Miranda, and Destination Neptune uncovers a possible diamond ocean at the ice giant's core. Each paperback is short and highly illustrated, making the set brilliant for building reading confidence while covering the whole Solar System from Venus to Neptune. Whole-Solar-System tour: eight destinations from Venus to Neptune in one collection. Graphic-novel style storytelling: comic-strip pages keep reluctant and confident readers engaged. Real science made fun: gravity, atmospheres, moons, and geology explained through adventure. Ideal for ages 7-9: bite-sized chapters perfect for independent reading or read-alouds. Great gift or classroom set: eight matching paperbacks make a ready-made space-science library.
